Choral Music
These recordings are from Lenore Alford's time as director of music at St. Philip's Church, Montreal, in the Anglican communion.
Featured works are the English traditional King Jesus Hath a Garden; Sulpitia Cesis: Cantate Domino (double choir); Dietrich Buxtehude: In dulci jubilo; Healey Willan: Missa Brevis No. 4 (Ex Corde ex Parentis).
Sulpitia Cesis was a nun/lutenist/composer from Northern Italy who composed during the Renaissance era. Lenore is committed to promoting the wonderful choral works published by a number of cloistered nuns in Italy during this time. More details about music in the convents can be found in Lenore's upcoming dissertation.
