Lecture Recital on Rolande Falcinelli
This lecture recital features twenty minutes of music by Falcinelli, spanning her eclectic compositional output. The earliest pieces represented are her opus 24 works composed for use at Sacré-Coeur in 1947, and the most recent are from her opus 73, composed in the 1980s. The lecture, which is forty minutes long, covers four basic aspects of Lenore Alford's research on Falcinelli: 1) overview of Falcinelli's life and career, 2) overview of compositional output, 3) why her gender has a bearing on her compositions and 4) focus on Alford's own method of categorizing Falcinelli's works.
